Jamendo.com is a repository for Creative commons, share-alike, non-commercial, and commercial licensed media. Most of which is available for free download.
The sixty one A music portal that allows you to listen to hundreds of thousands of songs with no fees or advertising except for the artists your listening to, many of the songs are available for download for a small fee, but they also feature a Creative commons license section.
For Text/audiobooks:
Project Gutenberg is a Project for translating public domain and creative commons licensed works from analog(books) into Digital. Many of the works are user contributed and there are a lot of classics.
Librivox is a similar project to Project Gutenberg, however Librivox's focus is on audiobooks. With thousands of volunteers reading chapters of public domain books.
