Making Wog Food
So what is Wog Food? Wog Food is basically any food that is quick to prepare, easy to prepare, affordable and healthy. In todays modern world, many people can't seem to think simple. Most people tend to over complicate things and in turn, consume far more time than needed to do basic things (like making food).
This page is meant to delve into the world of Wog Food and share ideas on making Wog Food, what to avoid, what not to avoid, etc.
Basic Cooking Kit Needed
- Plastic or Wooden cooking spoon and plastic spatula
- manual juicer
- a few drinking containers
- half cup measuring cup
- tablespoon measuring spoon
- eating spoon and fork
- bowl (stainless steel preferred)
- bowl (stoneware locally made preferred)
- plate (stoneware locally made preferred)
- good sharp knife
- cutting board
- rice cooker
- large pot, medium pot, fry pan (stainless steel preferred)
- NOTE: the above list may be incomplete
The above cooking kit is the basics that would come in handy while making Wog Food. Most people already have all or most of the above. If you are missing some utensils, look around at a local Goodwill or Thrift Shop. You can pick up great quality cookware at dirt cheap prices and usually help out some charity in the process. Example, I (Mark Reaves) picked up a large stainless steel bowl from a local Goodwill for only $1.00 USD. I picked up a manual beater for 50 cent. Dirt cheap and will last a lifetime if cared for properly. I even seen a simple rice cooker at the Goodwill for only $5.00 USD.
So what are some ingredients found in Wog Food? Pretty much anything healthy can be used. If you want something that can be cooked with minimal work, check out the Rice Cooker page.
Avoid these foods (not a complete list)
- Butter. If I have to explain why this is unhealthy, that would be sad.
- Dairy products. This includes cheese and milk. Yes I know butter is dairy but butter is in a class of its own. If I have to explain why dairy is bad, that too is sad. Look it up on the net.
- White Sugar. Toxin.
- Eggs (unless eaten in moderation and from free range chickens). Lots of fat and cholesterol.
- Meats. Yes meat is bad. The majority of meats today are chocked full of hormone injected, disease infected, tortured unhealthy goodness. For protein, you can use hemp seed, soy products (don't eat too much soy), beans and such. Some ways to use said products, Hemp Milk, Soy Milk, fake meats, straight beans, you get the idea.
- Anything that is NOT organic. Yes non-organic food stuffs are horribly unhealthy due to all the chemicals used to grow them and the synthetic fertilizers. Where does the nutrition in a plant come from? In organic foods, it would be the dirt. From chemical produce, it would be from the synthetic chemicals. Yes that's right the nutrition (what little there is) in non-organic foods comes from a lab. Always get Organic foods if you care about your health.
- Candy, sweets, junk food. These are the most tempting to most but are also basically toxic. Candy and sweets have loads of sugar (sugar is a toxin). Junk food usually has tons of fat, saturated fat, sugar, salt and all sorts of other unhealthy chemicals.
- Fast food. This is a big one. Have you ever actually seen how unhealthy fast food is? Even the salads at most fast food places is really unhealthy due to the meat they put on it (usually deep fried heavily processed chemical laden chicken). If you plan to be out and about awhile, bring some food with you. What you bring really depends on where you are going, how long you will be out, etc. Always a good choice is Home Made Trail Mix.
- Sodas. The fizzy sugary flavored beverage. Almost every drinks soda. Thing is, soda is very bad. Soda is loaded with sugar and other chemicals. Caffeine is also ADDED to the soda. Think about this for a moment. Why in the world would a company add a basically tasteless chemical that serves no real purpose to a product and sell it? Well caffeine is addicting. Yep that's right, the companies are making its customers addicted to their product so that they can make more money. I was a victim for a long time. For about 6-7 years I drank about a 2-liter of soda a day! I broke myself of drinking soda and had a MASSIVE headache for about a week. If you have ever had caffeine withdraws then you know what I mean. Stop the bullshit and drink water, drink juices, just don't drink soda. Coffee is ok in moderation IF it is natural, organic and fair traded.
- Alcohol. Alcohol is a touchy subject to some. It's not a food but many people treat it as such. Alcohol is addicting. Period. It screws with your judgement, hurts your body and messes with your mind. I personally believe that under certain circumstances and with certain people, some alcohol is fine. By this I mean, if you are a "happy drunk" and are in a safe situation where nobody will be in danger AND if you do not get "plastered", then alcohol may be fine. A buzz is fine usually. So drunk you barf all over and can't remember you were drunk is too much.
- Smoking. Smoking isn't a food but it is a big no no. Smoking is so unhealthy that if you smoke, you need to quit or you WILL die early from it. I smoked for about seven years. I stopped. I haven't smoked in about six months and I will not start again. I have not regretted quitting.
