If you know a "safe zone" in your area, get the GPS coordinates and make note of it here.

NOTE: All coordinates listed on this page have been submitted by users of this Wiki. Always investigate any Safe Zones in your area prior to any SHTF situations in order to make sure they are in fact safe.

What is a "wog safezone"?

A safezone, in short, is any building or location deemed suitable for short, or long term survival in the event of a disaster. Natural, supernatural, or man-made. To be suitable for survival, it is up to the wog in the given area to investigate the area/building, determine it's strengths and weaknesses, and determine if it suitable to be given a WSZ#(see below). If it is, it is then numbered, rated(see below), and cataloged.

Rating System

Please when you adda GPS location, include this Rating System. This will help us determine what the building is like. ( This system is subject to change at any point. )

Structural Integrity: 1-10

SI 1 = open field no permanent structures suitable for tents

SI 2 = Motor homes or travel trailers permanently stored at the location

SI 3 = permanent building or buildings such as sheds or picnic pavilions without sides

SI 4 = Basic Frame House. Residential structure to local residential standards

SI 5 = Block House, Light Commercial building.

SI 6 = Heavy commercial, like a factory or foundry

SI 7 = Bunker

SI 8 = Bank Vault

SI 9 = Significantly Underground Nuclear Shelter

SI 10 = NORAD

Portal Security: 1-10

PS 1 = no security such as an open field or open parking lot

PS 2 = chain link fence or easily bypassed gates

PS 3 = Lockable thin door that can be bypassed with a wog and a knife (bathroom doors fit in this category)

PS 4 = Lockable standard residential door with standard Grade 3 Residential hardware (Most home doors not in seriously urban areas fit into this category)

PS 5 = Lockable solid or metalclad door with Grade 2 Industrial hardware

PS 6 = Solid Steel Door with Equivalent High Security (Not necessarily Grade 1) locking hardware

PS 7 = Armored Door with high-end high-security hardware (Medeco Biaxial or Mul-T-Lock would go here)

PS 8 = Bank Vault or other door with an actual TL rating (May be as low as TL-15) with appropriate hardware.

PS 9 = Missile Silo Blast Door

PS 10 = NORAD

Power Options 1-10

PO 1 = No power available (Bring your own or "go primitive")

PO 2 = Grid Power Available

PO 3 = Grid Power Available with a generator Backup

PO 4 = Location has primary sustainable power without need for Grid (A town, village, or location with its own primary generators would be this - Think Glamis, CA)

PO 5 = Location has multiple indefinite power sources (Deliberate "off the grid" home using a combination of solar and wind power and ruthless energy management)

PO 6 = Location has multiple indefinite power sources and a generator backup

PO 7 = Location is a conventional power generation station.

PO 8 = Location is a Nuclear Power Plant

PO 9 = Location is a Solar Power Generating Facility

PO 10 = location is a hydroelectric power plant

Privacy: 1-10

PR 1 = Easily accessible public property (Think: A local park)

PR 2 = Not-so-easily-accessible public property (Think: A remote regional park with not a lot of traffic but still accessible)

PR 3 = Public property with private areas (anywhere that has a public rest room technically qualifies. So do libraries with "quiet reading rooms")

PR 4 = Friendly Corporate Property (By "Friendly Corporate" I mean the property is owned by a corporation, but they allow it for public use. Like a restaurant or hotel, in limited cases)

PR 5 = Private Property, Relatively accessible (private home)

PR 6 = Private Property, Relatively inaccessible (private home in the suburbs)

PR 7 = Private Property, Somewhat inaccessible (Rural home, still on the grid)

PR 8 = Private Property, Remote, Accessibility depends upon motivation (Rural home, off the grid. A hunting camp on a large piece of property. A home "out in the middle of nowhere" or "lower BFE")

PR 9 = Hidden, off the grid, private bunker on large piece of private property out in the middle of nowhere (Some missile silos could theoretically qualify if it is not well known.)

PR 10 = Anyplace it is legal to use deadly force on trespassers (NORAD, Nuclear Power Facilities, etc.)

Access/Escape options. 1-10

AE 1 = One way in, one way out. Remote. Most likely on foot. Wounded will have to be carried by other personnel.

AE 2 = One main way in, one regular way out, one backup way out. Semi remote. Stretcher access is possible. Light vehicles such as AT V’s and dirt bike accessibility.

AE 3 = One main way in, multiple informal ways out, one backup way out. Relatively remote. Stretcher access is possible inside, Emergency Vehicle access directly to the facility is possible.

AE 4 = Multiple ways in, Multiple ways out. Vehicles may be parked close to facility for immediate access and egress. Emergency vehicle and routine patient transport techniques may be used (This would be most homes and public buildings)

AE 5 = Location is an underground parking garage with several ways in and out for vehicles and separate ways in and out for pedestrians AE 6 = Location is an open-air parking garage in the middle of Downtown

AE 7 = Location is an open-air parking garage in the middle of Downtown right next to a freeway on and off ramp.

AE 8 = Location is an open-air parking garage in the middle of downtown, right next to a freeway on and off ramp, with a helipad were flat roof suitable for a helicopter to land. AE 9 = Location is an open-air parking garage at an AIRPORT, right next to a freeway on and off ramp.

AE 10 = Location is an close to Airport or Airport terminal next to freeway or major road.(Such as Old Marquette County Airport 46°32’02.68”N 87°33’30.14”W)

Wog Safe Zone Number (WSZ#)

A wog safe zone # (or WSZ#) is a number given to a specific safezone for quick ID. The system works on a Country/State format. An example below:

Safezone number 1 is in the United States, California. Therefore, the WSZ# would be 1USCA. 1 being the number, US being the country, and CA being the state. There can be as many safezones as needed in any given state, just change the number.

1USCA 2USCA 3USCA

and so on.

  • Arcadia, CA - WSZ#:1USCA - Race Track - 34 08'20.25n 118 02'42.77w (SI6 PS6 PO3 PR4 AE4)
  • Sierra Madre, CA - WSZ#: 2USCA - Monastery - 34 10'27.65N 118 03'47.96w (SI5 PS5 PO3 PR7 AE2)
